Donovan brings the ENERGY. He’s hands-on, always moving, and plays a big role in keeping things running smoothly. He’s our Pickup & Delivery specialist and laundry expert—and chances are, if you see him out on the road, he’s driving our brand new Ortega Cleaners van, so just say "Hi Donovan" or "Hola amigo"

Three Generations of Garment Care
Garment Care Roots
Our family’s journey in the garment care industry began in Mexico City in the early 1970s with Gina's grandfather purchasing a franchise, Su-perc-klin. At the age of 16, Gina's father, Simon, as the oldest son started working in the family business. Gina’s mother, Georgina, joined the industry at age 20, after marrying Simon. Together, Simon & Georgina built a family business rooted in hard work, dedication, and a passion for garment care.
Gina, the eldest of two daughters, grew up surrounded by the business and its traditions. Building on decades of family experience, Gina and Donovan expanded their journey to the United States and took over Ortega Cleaners in 2020. Today, they combine modern operational management with traditional craftsmanship, carrying the family’s garment care legacy into a new generation.
From Mexico City to California
Gina grew up in the garment care business, working alongside her family in Mexico City for 15 years. She got her start while she was still in high school, learning the business from the ground up.
In 2011, Gina met Donovan, and they began building their life—and eventually their business journey—together. In 2020, with the support of Gina’s parents, they took the next step and expanded their family’s experience into the U.S. by purchasing Ortega Cleaners, a small family-owned business in San Juan Capistrano, California that was established in 1995.
Gina and Donovan have worked hands-on to grow and improve the business, combining Gina’s years of family experience and knowledge with Donovan skills along with a team of experts, many of whom also bring more than 20 years of expertise in garment care.
Today, that mix of family tradition, hands-on ownership, and an experienced team is at the heart of Ortega Cleaners.
